Breast Cancer Awareness and Wellness Initiative – October Pink

In alignment with the global October Pink campaign for breast cancer awareness, DIEL Partners International, in partnership with Association DÙRONDÜ and local health organizations, organized a community-focused event in Libreville on October 19, 2024. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasize the importance of early detection, and provide essential health resources for both women and men in Gabon. The event focused on educating participants about the risks of breast cancer, preventive measures, and available treatment options in the region. It also promoted physical wellness and environmental stewardship through community engagement activities. The event featured the following key activities: • A 5k walk to foster community solidarity and encourage physical wellness. • Educational sessions on breast cancer risk factors, early detection, and prevention strategies. • Physical exercise sessions promoting health and wellness through sport, combined with an environmental initiative to collect household waste, particularly plastic waste at the Lycée National Léon Mba beach. In Gabon, early detection services for breast cancer remain scarce. At DIEL Partners International, we are committed to addressing this issue by raising awareness and providing critical education. Through our collaborations with local organizations, we strive to improve breast cancer detection rates, reduce mortality, and promote overall health and well-being in underserved communities.
